Camp SEE

Begun in 2005, CAMP SEE (Summer English Enrichment) is a model English and Culture camp in China. Educators from the US are members of a twelve teacher delegation. Chinese English co-teachers work with them in a Liuzhou school site where over 200 middle school students learn English and American cultural topics in a fun, interactive way. Curriculum and training is provided. During the two week camp, the delegates live with host families. The delegation enjoys one week of travel in beautiful Guangxi Province. For many educators this is an experience of a lifetime. At this time, the Camp occurs biannually on the odd years. Current or retired educators are welcome!

The American delegation members are recruited in October of the year preceding the camp which usually runs from the very end of June through the third week of July in the odd-numbered years. Contact CECE Global for prices which vary year-to-year depending on air and visa costs.

Testimonials:

Teacher (Summer 2007):

I know I might still be caught up in the emotion of it all, but of all the things I have done in my life (and I've done quite a few) this trip ranks at the top (except for marrying my beautiful wife). Thanks to all of you for your part in this wonderful experience.

Teacher (Summer 2007):

Teaching the Chinese students was one of the most enjoyable and rewarding experiences of my life. They were delightful, respectful, enthusiastic and every other quality you would hope for in a group of students. In my 29 years of teaching, they rank right up there as one of favorite, if not the most favorite, group of students I have ever had the pleasure of teaching. They seemed to enjoy every single lesson I gave them. I was quite touched by them and quite sad to say good-bye. Thank you for the role you played in giving me the experience and in particular, that class. In addition, the cultural lesson in dance that I taught in the afternoon, was very well recieved by almost every student in the rest of the classes, and so I also enjoyed the afternoons.

I found the people of China, and in particular, the people of Liuzhou, to be warm, welcoming, respectful and so very sweet and kind to me during my visit. They represented their country so well, and I only hope the nature of the impression that we left as Americans was approaching the impression they left on me.

Teacher (Summer 2007):

Thank you very much Mimi for making this trip possible. I will never forget the experience. I am recieving emails from Camp SEE kids. I hope that our presence will be a little piece in helping those kids to have positive feelings about our country and its people.
